Kathleen Marie Adams

Kathleen Marie Adams, 68, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday morning, October 4, 2017 at Reading Hospital, West Reading.

Born January 17, 1949 in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Janet M. Arnold and Fred F. Platner and the step-daughter of M. Lee Arnold, Lancaster, PA. She and her husband of 36 years, James L. Adams, were married on September 19, 1981 at the Bible Fellowship Church, Fleetwood.

Kathy was Chief Compliance Officer for Adams & Associates, Blandon, PA for 31 years. She also worked in the meat department of Acme Markets in Berks and Lancaster Counties for 17 years. Kathy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, PCA, Lancaster, PA and a member of Order of Eastern Star, East Penn Chapter #336, Kutztown, PA, where she was a Past Worthy Matron.

Kathy was a 1967 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, Lancaster and also attended the Lancaster Bible College. Kathy loved to cook and iron. She loved her furry friends, Kitty and Harvey, but most of all, she loved her family.

In addition to her step-father, Lee and her husband, Jim, Kathy is survived by her sister, Karen L. (Platner) Byerly, wife of Michael E. Byerly, Adamstown, her brother, Fred W. Platner, Mountville, PA, her niece, Lynn M. Shugar, her nephew, Justin R. Loss, her great niece Sarah , her great nephew Jack and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Services for Kathy will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, PA. Burial will follow in St. Peter's UCC Cemetery (Molltown), Richmond Township, PA.

Viewings will be held for Kathy on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
