Allen A. Boyer, 81, of Lyon Station, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Born Nov. 20, 1934 in Greenwich Township, he was the son of the late William J. and Esther E. (Merkel) Boyer. He and his wife, Jane D. (Conrad) Boyer were married on April 18, 1953, having celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2015.
Allen was a long time woodworker. He had worked for years in the construction industry as well as custom furniture and kitchens. Allen worked for Robert Weidele Construction, Shelter First, Handcrafted Country Pine Furniture and Crystal Kitchens. Allen had also worked in the advertising department at Caloric.
Allen was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Dryville and a 1952 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He also studied architecture. Allen was fond of building many things. He enjoyed model airplanes, doing art and pastels, sewing, needlework, archery and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Allen is survived by four children, Barry A. Boyer, husband of Michele L. (DeLong) Boyer, Kutztown, Karen S. Boyer, Lyon Station, April J. (Boyer) Dibler, wife of Jeffrey Dibler, Rockland Township, and Noel C. Boyer, husband of Gretchen (Diehl) Boyer, Bowers. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marlana L. Keeler, wife of Daryl Keeler, Jenele L. (Boyer) Hauger, wife of Christopher S. Hauger, Daryl A. Boyer and Audrey J. Boyer, a great grandson Logan C. Hauger, his brother William J. Boyer Jr., husband of Dorothea Boyer, Tilden Township and his sister, Ellen E. (Boyer) Hill, Topton.
Funeral Services for Allen will be held on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, with the Rev. Dr. Colleen G. Kristula, Chaplain at the Lutheran Home of Topton, officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
