Angel M. Suarez, 92, of Leesport, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Berks Heim.
Born December 29, 1927 in Cuba, he was the son of the late Magdalena (Justiniani) and Manuel Suarez-Jimenez. His wife of 48 years, Cohinta (Cecilia) Suarez, passed away on December 8, 1999.
Angel worked for many years at the Joseph Cory warehouse as a member of the Teamsters Union. He also spent time as a photographer in Cuba. Angel was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses attending the Laureldale Spanish services. He graduated from high school in Cuba and also served in the military service in Cuba.
Angel is survived by his daughter, Esther Burlew, wife of Edward C. Burlew, Keyport, NJ, his son, Joel Suarez, husband of Inez C. Suarez, Fleetwood and his daughter-in-law, Margarita Suarez, widow of Manuel P. Suarez, Pembroke Pines, FL.
In addition, Angel is survived by his grandchildren, Yasenia M. Zeigler, wife of Jason Zeigler and David K. Austin, and by his great-grandchildren, Mia J. Torres and Liliana D. Zeigler.
Along with his parents, Angel was preceded in death by his son, Manuel P. Suarez and his brothers, Miguel and Poncho.
Private Services will be held for Angel with burial in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
