Mrs. Barbara J. (Stern) Dietrich, 83, of Hamburg, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Born April 7, 1940, in Maxatawny Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Elsie (Miller) Stern. She and the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, John E. Dietrich, Sr., were married on July 8, 1961, in Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, Dryville.
Barbara worked for East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc., in the cable division. She also worked at the Wenton Shoe Factory and the Kutztown Shoe Factory. Barbara was an avid Sylvia Brown fan and a member of The 700 Club. Barbara was a member of Maidencreek Church, and a big Phillies fan. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, John, are her children, Mark A. Dietrich, husband of Lori C. (Romig) Dietrich, Fleetwood, Donna M. (Dietrich) Rabert, wife of Glenn M. Cordick, Kempton, Theresa A. (Dietrich) Carter, wife of Timothy A. Carter, Fleetwood, and John E. Dietrich, Jr., husband of Jennifer R. (Snyder) Dietrich, Hamburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Danielle and her husband, Jimmy, Alyssa and her husband, Josh, Andrew and his wife, Sarah, Aaron and his wife, Brianna, Alex, MacKenzie, Jared, Christopher, Talan and Kassandra, her great-grandchildren, Eloise, Brooklynne, , Sam, Chase, and little Ruby on the way, and by her siblings, Daniel Stern, husband of Linda Stern, Fleetwood, Barry Stern, husband of Sherry Stern, Laureldale, and Joan Acker, Alabama.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Dreibelbis, and her brother, Charles Stern.
Services for Barbara will be held privately by her family.
