Mrs. Betty E. (Eck) Braster

Mrs. Betty E. (Eck) Braster, 84, of Topton, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice Unit, Allentown, PA.

Born March 19, 1938 in Penn Yan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Fleet) Eck. Her husband of 54 years, Lewis C. Braster, passed away on July 29, 2010.

Betty worked as a medical receptionist for Pediatric Specialists in Elmira, New York. She was a longtime member of Oakwood Methodist Church, Elmira Heights, and a 1955 graduate of South Side High School, Elmira. Betty truly loved shopping, cleaning and doing arts and crafts.

Betty is survived by her three children, Martin L. Braster, husband of Rebeca Braster, Centreville, Iowa, Lisa C. Ficarro, widow of Sheridan P. Ficarro, Topton, and John E. Braster, husband of Kelley Braster, Horseheads, New York. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dean, Emily, Lewis, Zachary, Dayna, A'Nayah, and Owen, by her great-grandson, Emerick, and by her sister, Barbara (Eck) Mitchell, widow of Al Mitchell.

Services for Betty will be held in Elmira, New York, at the convenience of her family. Burial for Betty along side her husband, Lewis, will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, New York.
