Bonnie E. (Strauss) Caples

Bonnie E. (Strauss) Caples, 75, of Richmond Township, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

Born February 18, 1943 in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Doris (Buckwalter) Strauss.

Bonnie worked for 29 years as a departmental assistant, for GPU, then First Energy, Reading. She was a 1961 graduate of Mount Penn High School and a 1963 graduate of Reading Business Institute. Bonnie loved gardening, bird watching, horseback riding, tennis and especially spending time with her family.

Bonnie is survived by her two children, Lisa B. (Caples) Smith, wife of Lee M. Smith, Ephrata and Andrew J. Caples, husband of Isela E. (Montes) Caples, Reading. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Devon, Leslie, Kirstie, Michele, Brittany and Amanda and her great-grandchildren, Elianna and Kaylina.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
