Carl R. Kline, 70, of Mertztown, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at his home.
Born July 10, 1952 in Mertztown, he was the son of Edna D. (DeLong) Kline, District Twp, and the late George W. Kline.
Carl worked for many years for Bally Case and Cooler. He also worked in security at Mack Trucks and did upholstry and carpentry. Carl was a former member of the Mertztown Rod & Gun Club and a gradaute of Brandywine High School in 1970. After high school, he also took courses in computer programming. Carl enjoyed civil war reenacting, playing strategic games on the computer, traveling, corvettes and especially woodworking.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his two sons, Jason A. Kline, husband of Ashley L. (Coggins) Kline, Mechanicsburg, and Jackson Kline, husband of Amanda L. (Miller) Kline, Kutztown. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Trevor, Ty, Blake, Paul, Nicole and Brandon, and by his ex-wife, Darnell L. Thomas, Frackville.
Private graveside services and burial will take place in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Rockland Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's memory to the Salvation Army, 301 S. 5th St, Reading, PA 19603-1099.
