Carolyn M. (Folk) Kemmerer

Mrs. Carolyn M. (Folk) Kemmerer, 80, of Laureldale, passed away on Tuesday evening, August 9, 2016 at Country Meadows, Wyomissing, PA.

Born February 12, 1936 in Reading, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Long) Folk. She and her husband of 58 years, Harold E. Kemmerer, were married on July 26, 1958 at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Temple.

Carolyn was a long time secretary at Epiphany Lutheran Church, Temple, where she was also a life member and was very involved in many activities. She sang in the church choir for over 40 years and was active in the Lutheran Church Women as well as the Christian Women's Club. Prior to her time as secretary for the church, she worked as a secretary for Empire Steel, Laureldale.

Carolyn graduated in 1953 from Muhlenberg High School, was a volunteer for the Muhlenberg Ambulance Association and enjoyed camping and traveling.

Carolyn is survived by her two children, Kenneth C. Kemmerer, husband of Kristel Pfeil Kemmerer, Fleetwood and Karen K. (Kemmerer) Boyer, wife of James H. "Pickle" Boyer, Fleetwood. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Kate M. Kemmerer, Washington, DC and her grandsons, Karl A. Kemmerer, Pittsburgh, PA and Christian H. Boyer, Fleetwood.

Carolyn's family would like to thank the staff of Country Meadows Pathways for the love and special care of their mother over the past several years.

Funeral Services for Carolyn will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, with the Rev. Thomas Irwin, Jr., Pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, Temple, officiating. Burial will follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be held for Carolyn on Monday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
