Charles R. "Skip" Shuman, Sr., 84, of Oley, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 10, 2021 at Manor Care, Sinking Spring, where he had been a patient for a brief time.
Born April 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles D. and Emma M. (Reider) Shuman.
Skip served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army.
Skip worked for over 27 years as a forklift operator for Prestolite Battery, Temple. He also worked for Quaker Maid Kitchens, Leesport and Tray Pak. He attended Fleetwood Area School District and Maidencreek Church and, most of all, enjoyed golfing and drinking beer.
Skip is survived by his two daughters, Karen L. (Shuman) Creed, wife of Terry Creed, Harrah, Oklahoma and Kim L. (Shuman) Chow, wife of John Chow, Muhlenberg Township. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex, Charles, Andrea, Trisha and Zachary, his great-grandchildren, Autumn and Caleb, his brothers, Edward H. Shuman, husband of Faye (Richenbach) Shuman, Carlsbad, NM, Richard L. Shuman, husband of Judith M. (Lorah) Shuman, Blandon, and Gene R. Shuman, husband of Susan (Novak) Shuman, Alexandria, VA and by several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his son, Charles R. Shuman, Jr.
Private services for Skip will be held at the convenience of his family. Burial will take place in Maidencreek Cemetery, Blandon.
