Daniel J. Reimert

Daniel J. Reimert, 72, of Mertztown, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Luther Crest Health Care Center, Allentown.

Born March 19, 1943 in Virginville, he was a son of the late Ethel M. (Fields) and Daniel W. Reimert.

Daniel worked as a bus driver for Carl R. Bieber Tourways, Kutztown and for Gross Bussing and Brandywine Transportation. He also drove tractor trailer for Conway Eastern Express, Plymouth Rock Trucking, Pilot Motor Freight and for A & B Meats. He was a 1961 graduate of Kutztown High School after attending Fleetwood Middle School.

He was President of the "Brothers of 76" at the Ray A. Master Post 217, Topton, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kutztown and the Mertztown Rod & Gun Club. Daniel truly enjoyed spending time with his family. His daughter and grandchildren were so very precious to him. He spent his life serving others and in his free time enjoyed softball, movies and, back in the day, working on his vehicles. He loved to eat out and especially at Jak's Downtown Diner and the White Palm Restaurant, Topton.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Angie J. Reimert, Allentown, granddaughter Abigail J. Makovsky, Allentown and grandson Maximillian D. Meitzler, Allentown. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald K. Reimert, husband of Roxanne (Schier) Reimert, Mertztown, his sister Sandra D. (Reimert) Thibodeau, Hamburg and his former wife, Jeanne G. (Kressley) Hertzog, Laureldale.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was proceeded in death by his sister, Barbara J. (Reimert) Kulp.

Memorial Services for Daniel will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA. A visitation will be held Friday June 19th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at 10 am at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
