David J. Leibensperger, 61, of Blandon, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, November 24, 2023, at his home.
Born August 14, 1962, in Allentown, he was the son of LeRoy and Ruth (Greiss) Leibensperger, Alburtis.
David was an auto mechanic working at Earl L. Rhoads Garage, New Jerusalem, Christmans Garage, New Jerusalem, and Stanley Smith Garage, Mertztown. He also worked on his grandfather's farm milking cows. He attended Huff's Union Church, Alburtis, was a life member of the North End Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli, was a member of the Rockland Rod & Gun Club, and graduated in 1980 from Brandywine Area High School.
David loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his Yuengling beer. He also enjoyed skeet shooting, butchering, and gardening.
Surviving in addition to David's parents, is his longtime companion, Loren Ulrich, with whom he lived, his daughters, Nadine M. Leibensperger-Butz, wife of Scott H. Butz, Guffy, Colorado, and Madeline M. Leibensperger, his grandson, Wyatt, his sisters, Phyllis Leibensperger, New Tripoli, and Sally (Leibensperger) Rothenberger, wife of Gordon Rothenberger, Fleetwood, his brother, Robert A. Leibensperger, husband of Denise M. (LaFaver) Leibensperger, Mertztown, his aunts and uncles, Earl and Lorraine Greiss, and Norma Greiss, his nieces and nephews, Lindsay, Jason, Nathan and Hannah, and by many great-nieces and great-nephews, Loren's children, Jessica N. Gilbert, companion of Jeremy Gehman, Sinking Spring, Chelsea M. (Gilbert) Rhodes, wife of Floyd Rhodes, Hamburg, Kristin B. (Gilbert) Conner, wife of Braden Conner, Shillington, Travis B. Gilbert, Orlando, FL, and Michael R. Gilbert, Blandon, and her grandchildren, Caleb, Ashton, Auden, Jaxson, Sylvie and Daxton.
Funeral Services for David will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA. Burial will follow in Huff's Union Church Cemetery, Alburtis.
Viewings for David will be held on Thursday evening, November 30, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Friday morning, December 1, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
