Dorothy M. (Hertzog) Shuman, 93, of Fleetwood, passed away on Thursday evening, February 18, 2021 at the Lutheran Home at Topton.
Born April 22, 1927 in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Jenny (Kline) Hertzog. Her husband of 57 years, James M. Shuman Sr., passed away in 2003.
Dorothy was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon and had worked as a preparation cook at Weaver’s Kountry Kitchen, Temple. She enjoyed crotcheting, singing, reading books, jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo. Most of all, she was a loving and wonderful Mother to her six children and an amazing Memmy to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Sandra L. (Shuman) Wawrzyniak, wife of Stan Wawrzyniak, Fleetwood, James M. Shuman Jr., husband of Donna (Leibensperger) Shuman, Leesport, Patricia D. (Shuman) DeLong, widow of Gene DeLong, Fleetwood, Robin L. (Shuman) Adams wife of John Adams, Soldotna, AK, Lori A. (Shuman) Geiger, wife of Glenn Geiger, Breinigsville and Nan L. (Shuman) Miller, wife of Daniel Miller, Blandon. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren on the way and by several other family members.
Funeral Services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
A viewing will be held for Dorothy on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
