Edward K. Loughery Sr., 60, of Leesport, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday morning, March 11, 2022.
Born November 2, 1961 in Doylestown, he was the son of Rita G. (Grasso) and Geoffrey A. Loughery, Chalfont. He and his wife of 34 years, Pamela J. (Weidner) Loughery, were married on May 23, 1987 in Zion Spies Evangelical Church, Alsace Township.
Ed worked for Pitney Bowes as a truck driver, working at the Muhlenberg Township office. He also worked previously for A-Treat and Pepsi as a merchandising representative. Ed was a 1980 graduate of Souderton High School; and after earning his associate's degree at Montgomery County Community College, went on to graduate from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in business in 1985.
Ed was a member of the Zion Spies Evangelical Church, Alsace Township, where he had served as a deacon. He truly loved cars of all kinds. He was a member of the Doylestown Quarter Midget Racing Club and the Quarter Midgets of America Club. He enjoyed restoring cars, building models, photographing racing and was often selling automobilia at local flea markets.
Surviving in addition to his Mom and Dad, and the love of his life, his wife Pam, are his three children, Kayleen A. (Loughery) Snyder, wife of Ryan C. Snyder, Leesport, Felicia M. Loughery, Lancaster, and Edward K. Loughery Jr., husband of Alexa M. (Radanovic) Loughery, Lancaster. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rylee, Emelia and Asher, his brothers, Robert J. Loughery, husband of Beverly S. (Schade) Loughery, Lansdale, and Thomas M. Loughery, husband of Michelle K. (Kriston) Loughery, Jim Thorpe, by his sister, Catherine L. (Loughery) DeLaurentis, wife of Michael DeLaurentis, Ambler, and by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services for Ed will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at New Life Bible Fellowship Church, 2960 W. Philadelphia Ave, Oley, with Pastor Brad Boyer, Ed's brother-in-law, officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of services at the church.
To honor Ed and his love of racing, the family requests donations to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, PO Box 688, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Donations made in Ed's memory will be compiled and once tallied, if over the amount required, a block will be made in his memory and displayed at the museum.
