Esther Garcia

Esther Garcia, 71, of Reading, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Tower Health, Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.

Born July 6, 1951 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Sofia (Guzman) Santiago, Reading, and the late Rev. Prudencio E. Garcia.

Esther worked most recently as a park ranger in Florida. Prior to that, she was a home health aide and a traffic officer for the NYPD in New York City, NY. Esther loved all animals, especially dogs and turtles, but most of all, Esther truly loved her family and spending time with them.

In addition to her Mom, Esther is survived by her three children, Milagros Flores-Santana, wife of Juan Carlos Santana, Far Rockaway, New York, Diane Flores, Brooklyn, New York, and Serafin Flores Jr., Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by her grandsons, Nigel and John, and by her siblings, Nehemiah Garcia, Reading, Sofia Garcia, Manhattan, New York, Julia Garcia, Puerto Rico, Joel Garcia Sr., husband of Aida (Rodriguez) Garcia, Reading, Damaris Melendez, wife of Manuel Melendez, West Reading, Rosa Garcia, Reading, Elizabeth Robles, wife of Roberto Robles, Reading, and Evelyn Moran, wife of Jose Moran, Reading.

Along with her father, Esther was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Ruben, Samuel, Rosa Maria, Benjamin, David, Joshua and Angel.

Private Services for Esther will be held at the convenience of the family.
