Mr. Eugene J. Kerckaert

Eugene J. Kerckaert, 89, of Blandon, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.

Born July 4, 1935 in Mishawaka, Indiana, Gene was the son of the late Alphonse and Alice (Van Den Berghe) Kerckaert. He and his wife of 29 years, Patricia K. (Sloan) Kerckaert, were married on December 2, 1995.

Gene worked for many years for the Michigan Department of Transportation as a design engineer. He was a 1954 graduate of Mishawaka High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1960. Gene truly enjoyed hiking, running and playing soduko.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Patricia, are his four children, Cheryl (Kerckaert) Brown, Chandler, Arizona, Joseph Kerckaert, husband of Jody Kerckaert, Gaylord, Michigan, Mark A. Kerckaert, husband of Amy Kerckaert, Chandler, Texas, and Susan (Kerckaert) Parsons, Harmony, North Carolina. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and by his brother, Richard J. Kerckaert, Mishawaka, Indiana.

Along with his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson, Miles Kerckaert.

Services for Gene will be held privately by his family.
