Gerald D. Bollinger

Gerald D. Bollinger, 72, of Kunkletown, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA.

Born June 28, 1952 in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Alvin D. and Marion J. (Green) Bollinger. He and his wife of 51 years, Ellen J. (Hughes) Bollinger, were married in Slatedale on April 21, 1973.

Gerald served his country honorably and faithfully, serving as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Gerald owned and operated Northeastern Machine & Fabrication, Lehighton, since 1992. He also worked for B& F Machine, Germansville, Ross Bicycle, Bethlehem, Martin Sprocket & Gear, Danielsville, Mack Truck, Macungie, and Blue Ridge Pressure Casting, Lehighton.

Gerald was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville, and the VFW Post 7134, Palmerton. He was a 1970 graduate of Palmerton High School, and truly enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Ellen, Gerald is survived by his daughters, Rebecca S. Bollinger, Lehighton, and Sarah E. (Bollinger) Gregory, wife of Brian Gregory, Summitt Hill, his sons, Nathan J. Bollinger, Palmerton, and Clinton R. Bollinger, husband of Becca Bollinger, Tualatin, OR, his grandchildren, Shaina, Briar, Alden, Liberty, Joshua, Lilliana, his brothers, Glenn A. Bollinger, husband of Karen Bollinger, Palmerton, Mark H. Bollinger, husband of Donna M. Bollinger, Kunkletown, and John M. Bollinger, husband of Colleen F. Bollinger, Kunkletown, and by several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica M. Bollinger, on February 19, 2025, and by his sister, Diane L. Nansteel.

Services for Gerald will be held privately by his family.
