Glance L. "Glenn" Moatz, 78, of Topton, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 21, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born April 30, 1944 in Ruscombmanor Township, he was the son of the late Paul N. and Elda M. (Weidner) Moatz. He and the love of his life, his very first girlfriend and wife of 50 years, Leatrice M. (Miller) Moatz, were married on September 25, 1971 in Zion Union Church, Maxatawny.
Glenn served his country honorably and faithfully as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps, having served thirteen months in Vietnam. He was a longtime member of the Russell M. Butterwick Marine Corps League where he served on their Honor Guard. He was also a life member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, PA.
Glenn was a leather worker for 31 years at Garden State Tanning, Fleetwood. He truly enjoyed farming and tractors and was a crew chief for his son's tractor during tractor pulls. Glenn was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church and Christian Academy, Lyons, and attended Oley Valley High School. He loved deer hunting, gardening, bowling, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Leatrice, Glenn is survived by his two children, Michael S. Moatz, husband of Pamela K. (Mengel) Moatz, Kutztown, and Angela R. Moatz, Topton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob M. Moatz and Cathlene N. Moatz, both of Kutztown, his brother, Samuel H. Moatz, his sisters, Helen M. Christman, wife of Luther Christman, and Mamie M. Phillips, and by many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Moatz, and by his brothers, Robert N. Moatz, Herbert D. Moatz, Earl G. Moatz, Raymond P. Moatz, and William L. Moatz.
Memorial Services for Glenn will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, beginning with Military Honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Honor Guard at 11:00 am. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home.
A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of Military Honors at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenn's memory to K9's for Warriors, 114 Camp K9 Road, Ponte Vedra, FL, 32081.
