Mrs. Gloria P. (Fretz) Moatz

Mrs. Gloria P. (Fretz) Moatz, 94, of Mohrsville, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 19, 2025 at Complete Care at Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, PA.

Born February 27, 1931 in Reading, Gloria was the daughter of the late Floyd and Marie (Rader) Fretz. Her husband of 71 years, Donald R. Moatz, passed away on June 2, 2019.

Gloria was a homemaker and cherished raising her children. She also worked as a crossing guard for the Exeter Township School District. She was a former member of Schwarzwald UCC Church, Jacksonwald, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 934, Exeter Township. She was a 1949 graduate of Wilson High School and loved golfing.

Gloria truly enjoyed giving her time to help others. She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics, and she also spent many hours volunteering at the Southeastern Veterans Center, Spring City.

Gloria is survived by her children, Donna M. (Moatz) Puwalski, widow of Richard E. Puwalski, Exeter Township, Keith A. Moatz, Husband of Deborah (Lubas) Moatz, Clairton, PA, Sheila L. (Moatz) Baddick, wife of Joseph M. Baddick, Mohrsville, and Steven A. Moatz, husband of Courtney Moatz, Dover, DE. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brett, Marc, Mela, Tyna, Steven Jr., and Stefany, and by her great-grandchildren, Cole, Atticus, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Brantley, Rowan, Roslyn, Aimee and Grant.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Donald, Gloria was preceded in death by her daughter, Patty L. (Moatz) Gantert and her sister, Madeline Bender.

Graveside Services for Gloria will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd, Fleetwood.
