Gustave L. Stein, 71, of Kutztown, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Weatherly, PA.

Born September 17, 1946 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Gustave and Mary (Riecica) Stein. He and his wife of 34 years, Annette M. (Dietrich) Stein, were married on July 21, 1984 in Greenwich Township.

Gus spent many years farming. He worked as a technician for Russell Conrad, Kutztown, a concrete delivery driver for Harvey George Concrete, Virginville, as well as for another trucking firm working out of Caloric.

Gus served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Navy. He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Krumsville and a 1964 graduate of Parkland High School. He was a member of the Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kutztown, PA and VFW Post 7293, Egypt, PA. Gus loved hunting, fishing and farming.

In addition to his wife, Gus is survived by his children, Nanette S. Stein, spouse of Morgan L. Stein, Allentown and Lee J. Stein, Northampton, PA, his step-children, Melissa M. Schappell, Edenburg, PA and Shelly S. (Schappell) Bomba, wife of Vincent J. Bomba, Northeast, MD, his grandchildren, Brittany, Anna, Kaitlyn, Laurel and Eleanor, his step-grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Andrew, Melissa and Isabella, his great-granddaughter, Cassandra and step great-granchildren, Vanessa and Brooke. He is also survived by his sisters, Ethel Ruth, Mount Joy, PA, Charlotte Fritz, wife of James Fritz, Egypt, PA, Carol Shoemaker, wife of Lewis Shoemaker, Spring Branch, TX and Joyce Stein, Ulster, PA.

Along with his parents, Gus was preceded in death by a son, Adam W. Stein and a sister, Mary Hudak.

A Memorial Service for Gus will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, 1456 Krumsville Rd, Lenhartsville, PA. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.

Private burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
