Harvey H. Silfies

Harvey H. Silfies, 85, of Kutztown, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA.

Born November 7, 1936 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Ida M. (Troxell) and Stanley R. Silfies Sr. He and his wife of 60 years, Virginia A. "Dolly" Silfies, were married on March 24, 1962 in Bowers, PA.

Harvey served his country honorably and faithfully as a member of the United States Army in the early 1960's.

Harvey worked as a charter bus driver for Carl R. Bieber Tourways for over 30 years. He also worked at East Penn Manufacturing for 13 years. He was a 1955 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and loved farming and driving Mennonite families throughout the area.

In addition to his wife, Dolly, Harvey is survived by his children, Allen C. Silfies, husband of Tavis (Junge') Silfies, Correctionville, Iowa, and Diane L. (Silfies) Edwards, wife of Melvin P. Edwards IV, Shoemakersville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie and her husband Miguel, Sommer, Nathan and his wife, Kelli, Lucas, Hailie and Hunter, his great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Mason, Deacon, Corbin, Caleb and Trevor, and by his sisters, Betty Lou Moyer and Ivy Knoshaug.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven T. Silfies, his sister, Peggy Rizzolo and by his brother, Stanley R. Silfies Jr.

Services for Harvey will be private.
