James D. Haney

James D. “Doug” Haney, 66, of Blandon, passed away on Monday evening, August 26, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA.

Born October 5, 1952 in Vinita, Oklahoma, he was the step-son and son of Carol (Wiggins) Haney, Big Cabin, OK and the late James L. Haney. He and his wife of 48 years, Sue (Capehart) Haney, were married on June 4, 1971 in Big Cabin, OK.

Doug worked for many years at Air Products where he was responsible for worldwide distribution of helium products. He also worked in distribution and as a dispatcher for Wakefern Foods, Breinigsville.

Doug was a member of The Church on the Hill, Kutztown, where he was a past member of the Elder Board, taught Sunday School and played bass guitar for the Worship Team. Doug was a graduate of Big Cabin High School and Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK. He loved playing his guitar, golfing and was an avid sports fan. He especially loved his OU Sooners!

Surviving in addition to his wife, Sue, and his step-mother, Carol, are his two children, Jon Haney, husband of Becky J. (Love) Haney, Birdsboro and Juli (Haney) Berk, wife of Kevin D. Berk, Kempton, his grandchildren, T.J., Braidon and Bryce, his sister, Reva Schumacher, wife of Josh Schumacher, Claremore, OK and his niece Kaleigh.

Funeral Services for Doug will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, Fleetwood, with Pastor Stephen Winters officiating. A viewing will be held Saturday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at the funeral home.
