Janet C. (Miller) Wisniewski, 79, of Cumru Township, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Mifflin Center, Shillington, PA.
Born January 1, 1944, in Camden, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Calvin J. and Catherine P. (Conlon) Miller.
Janet owned and operated Jude's Towing, named after the patron saint of hopeless cases. She grew up helping her father, who nicknamed her "Dynamite", fix cars and was happiest when she was turning many heads as she drove by in her fire engine red Holmes wrecker with a corvette engine. Janet also spent time working as a corrections officer at Berks County Prison, and also waitressing.
Janet was a past member of St. Catherine of Sienna Roman Catholic Church, Reading. She taught herself Spanish over the years, volunteered at the Berks County Animal Rescue League, enjoyed tech and learning new computer systems which she eventually went to school for. She loved music and enjoyed her fur babies over the years, especially her favorite kitty Scooter, who is now with her friend Carol.
Janet was always a spit fire. She had a wild sense of humor, was fierce in nature, and always enjoyed a good time. She wasn't fond of many but when she was, she treated you as family. She was supported and loved for over 60 years by her best friend Carol Ann Filippini, by whom she is survived, along with Carol's granddaughter, Athena Breneman.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia.
Services for Janet will be private.
