Jo Anne (Lippincott) Gruver

Jo Anne (Lippincott) Gruver, 73, of West Lawn, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.

Born February 22, 1947 in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lucille K. (Remp) and Joseph R. Lippincott, Jr. JoAnne was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert E. Greth, her husband of 3 years who was killed in the Vietnam War, and John C. Gruver, her husband of 12 years who passed away in 1985.

Jo Anne was a 1964 graduate of Oley Valley High School and also graduated from Global University. She was an accountant for J.C. Ehrlich for over 20 years and served as church secretary and Pastoral Care Pastor for the Abundant Life Assembly of God, Birdsboro.

Jo Anne loved Jesus and caring for others. Whether it was at her church or during her time at Reading Area Community College where she tutored students in reading, Jo Anne was truly called to serve her Lord and others. Jo Anne’s greatest love was for her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed her time with them the most.

JoAnne is survived by her two children, Scott C. Gruver, husband of Kara L. (Light) Gruver, Shillington and Kimberley M. (Gruver) Dickerson, wife of Alan E. Dickerson, West Lawn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany, Stevin, Dakota, Josiah, Myka and Madelyn and by her brothers, John R. Lippincott, husband of Ronnie C. (Ortiz) Lippincott, Adamstown and James D. Lippincott, Reading.

In addition to her parents and her two husbands, Robert and John, Jo Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Judy R. Lippincott and her brother, Joseph R. Lippincott, III.

Memorial Services for Jo Anne will be announced at a later date.
