John H. Krug, 82, of Kutztown, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown.
Born May 31, 1934 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Julius Mil-Roy and Dorothy M. (Hill) Krug and his late step-mother, Martha Bowman Krug.
John and his partner of 34 years, Otto Fenn, owned and operated an antique shop for over 50 years and a photography studio in Sag Harbor, New York. He was also an accomplished photographer. Among several other famous subjects he photographed, he was called upon to do photography of Jackie Gleason and Andy Warhol.
John served his country honorably in the United States Army and was of the Catholic faith. After graduating high school in Pittsburgh, he went on to receive his Master's Degree from Penn State University as a chef.
John is survived by his step-son, David D. Darinsig, husband of Crystal E. (Dottery) Darinsig, Kutztown, his granddaughters, Sarah Darinsig, Kutztown, Samantha Bortz, wife of Tim Bortz, Auburn, PA and Nikole Darinsig, Kutztown, and by his best buddy, his dog, Ditto. He is also survived by his niece Deborah Hallam, Durham, NC and several other nieces and nephews.
Services for John will be held privately by the family.
