John E. "Jack" Vose Sr., 83, of Gilbertsville, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, at Pottstown Hospital.
Born February 23, 1938 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Clara E. (Huber) Vose. Jack and the love of his life, his wife, Carol M. (Moyer) Vose, were married on February 24, 1990 at Faulkner Swamp UCC Church, New Hanover Township.
Jack was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 for 65 years. In addition to many locations Jack had worked at, his most important was the Limerick Generating Station where he met his bride. Jack also spent years as a civilian employee working for the Central Intelligence Agency installing security protocols at consulates around the world.
Jack loved flying. He was a private pilot and truly enjoyed flying ultralight and private planes. He mostly shared the love of flying with his boys. Jack attended Tri-County Bible Church, Gilbertsville, and had attended Mastbaum High School in Kensington. He was a member of the Pike Township Sportsmans Association and the Boyertown Multi-service. Jack also loved skiing, hunting, fishing and attending his Thursday morning men's bible study.
Most of all, Jack loved his family. He adored his wife, Carol, and was so proud of all of his children. Jack would light up anytime he got to spend time with one of his grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addtion to his wife, Carol, are his 6 children, John E. Vose Jr., Hawaii, Valerie A. (Vose) Romano, Florida, William F. Vose and his spouse, Stacie, Greensboro, NC, Deborah J. (Vose) Kalinovski, Palm Beach, FL, Richard C. Vose, Easton, and Eric J. Vose, husband of Elizabeth M. (Degerberg) Vose, Pottstown. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his sister, Frances Caprara, Gilbertsville, and by his mother-in-law, Joyce M. Moyer-Leary, Pottstown.
In addition to his mom and dad, Jack was preceded in death by his 10 brothers and sisters.
Memorial Services for Jack will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 am, at Tri-County Bible Church, 142 Buchert Rd, Gilbertsville, PA. A visitation will be held, Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
