Joseph M. Andros Jr., 76, of Blandon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
Born November 4, 1943 in Roxborough, he was the son of the late Irene (Sharik) and Joseph M. Andros Sr. He and his wife of 49 years, Carol A. (Crouch) Andros, were married on May 1, 1971 at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church, Philadelphia, PA.
Joseph served his country honorably and faithfully as a member of the United States Army Reserves.
After graduating from Roxborough High School in 1961, Joseph went on to study to be an electrician at the BOK Technical School in Philadelphia. He worked for IBEW, Local 98, Philadelphia and also spent time as an independent contractor. Joseph then worked as a Master Electrician for Dupont, Grays Ferry for 28 years.
Joseph was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Kutztown and was active with the Boy Scouts for many years. He was a Cub Master as well as an Assistant Scout Master. He loved to play volleyball as a member of “The Other Team” and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving in addition to the love of his life, Carol, are his three children, Joanne L. (Andros) McNellis, wife of Christopher S. McNellis, Lynda A. Andros-Clay, wife of Christopher H. Clay, Bozeman, Montana and Joseph M. Andros, III, fiancé of Samantha M. Ashley, Douglassville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaileigh, Ashleigh, Ryleigh, Evan and Temperance and by his sister, Marie (Andros) Oswald, widow of Albert Oswald, Roxborough.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 14833 Kutztown Road, Kutztown, PA with Monsignor Walter T. Scheaffer as celebrant. A visitation for Joseph will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church.
