Mrs. Joyce M. (Roberts) Miller

Mrs. Joyce M. (Roberts) Miller, 79, of Richmond Township, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA.

Born September 15, 1944, in Reading, Joyce was the daughter of the late Warren and Katherine (Moffitt) Auchenbach. She and the love of her life, her husband of 61 years, Terry R. Miller, were married in Reading on January 12, 1963.

Joyce worked for over 20 years for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, last working as a supervisor. She also worked in the bookkeeping department at Horrigan Finance Company and for Kagen's Sporting Goods, Reading.

Joyce was a longtime member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where she assisted with services as an usher and a lector. She was a former member of St. Paul's UCC Church, Fleetwood, where she was a Deacon and a member of the consistory.

Joyce was a 1962 graduate of Reading High School. She truly enjoyed writing poetry and belonged to a writer's group. Some of her poems were published as well.

Surviving in addition to Joyce's husband, Terry, are her three sons, Kenneth T. Miller, husband of Nicole M. (Jackson) Miller, Blandon, Michael G. Miller, Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Richard W. Miller, husband of Sandra L. (Schlegel) Miller, Fleetwood. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren, Adalyn, Nicholas and Elizabeth, her brother, Walter Auchenbach, husband of Diane Auchenbach, Bernville, and by many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Bowman.

Memorial Services for Joyce will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St, Fleetwood, PA. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
