Keith L. Madeira, 58, of Frackville, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 15, 1960 in Reading, he was the son of the late Bluma (Evans) Madeira and Frank Conrad. He and his wife of 34 years, were married July 16, 1983 in Temple, PA.
Keith worked for many years in Reading for Mike Mumma as a jeweler. He also was a brick purifier working for Advanced Carbon Technologies, Topton, PA. He was a 1978 graduate of Reading High School and truly loved music. He was very active with the House of Prog, writing reviews of up and coming bands and helping to advance opportunities for young artists. Most of all, Keith loved his children dearly, and was especially close to his girls and grandbabies.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Keith is survived by his children, Jessica L. (Madeira) Beck, wife of Allen R. Beck, Exeter Twp, Matthew S. Madeira, Mahanoy City, Alexandra L. Madeira, fiancee of Derek A. Faust, Wernersville and Sara M.T. (Madeira) Shamonsky, wife of Joshua F. Shamonsky, Auburn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Trinity, Zachary, Camden, Mattie, Lacey, Charlie, Jaxon, Vera, his ninth grandbaby on the way and his four-legged buddy, Toby.
Funeral Services for Keith will be held privately for his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to House of Prog in Keith's honor and memory. Keith's passion for music was a not-so-secret lover and he would want to give back to an organization with like-minded people who shared his obsession for progressive music; the same group of people that touched his life as much as he touched theirs. Donations are able to be made via PayPal at the following email address: houseofprog@comcast.net.
Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, Fleetwood, is honored to be caring for Keith and his family. Online condolences may be offered at WalbertFuneralHome.com.
