Kenneth H. Madeira

Kenneth H. Madeira, 92, of Fleetwood, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Shillington, PA.

Born November 16, 1931, in Reading, Kenneth was the son of the late Grace (Aulenbach) and Harold Madeira. He and his wife of 45 years, Linda E.G. (Gottschall) were married in Hamburg, PA, on September 23, 1978.

Kenneth served his country honorably and faithfully as a specialist in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Kenneth worked for 39 years driving truck for Interstate Container, Reading. He was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School and studied for eight years at the Reading Bible Institute. Kenneth was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon, where he was a youth leader and taught Sunday School for 35 years.

Kenneth was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a hunter safety instructor and was a life member of the Oley Valley Fish & Game Club, a life member and endowment member of the NRA, and a longtime member of the Federated Sportsmen's Club of Berks County.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Linda, are his children, Linda J. (Madeira) Schiaroli, Lancaster, Dale K. Madeira, Oley, Kerry A. Madeira, husband of Karen L. (Gerhart) Madeira, Lancaster, Kirk C. Madeira, husband of Amy J. (Hopkins) Madeira, Schaefferstown, and Craig A. Madeira, husband of Tracy M. (Friel) Maderia, Holly Ridge, NC. He is also survived by his stepson, Michael L. Simmons, companion of Janelle Fenstermacher, Shillington, his grandchildren, Melissa, Stephanie, Christopher, Carissa, Nathan, Lauren, Ty Justin and Chase James, his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Summer, Chase, Kendra, Angie, Gabriela, Emmett and Sullivan, and by his sister, Patricia Teter.

Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Rodney, and by his sister, Doris.

Funeral Services for Kenneth will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, 220 Main Street, Blandon, PA. A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.

Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township, PA.
