Leah (Maier) Fineman, 91, of Blandon, passed away on Friday, January 22, at her home at Keystone Villa of Fleetwood.
Born September 16, 1924 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Jenny (Orlick) Maier. Her husband of 38 years, David J. Fineman, passed away in June of 1983.
Leah joined the war effort during World War II, working alongside Rosie Riveters as a welder at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. She was proud to be a homemaker while her children were growing up and had also worked for Clover retail stores.
Leah was very active at Keystone Villa of Fleetwood, taking part in all activities and enjoyed interacting with people on a daily basis. She was an active swimmer at the YMCA, swimming into her 90's three times per week. Leah attended Germantown High School. During her life, she was active in theatrical plays and was a member of the Jewish faith.
She is survived by her children, Susan M. (Fineman) Eley, wife of John-Eric Eley, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Deborah Fineman, wife of Richard G. Soule, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Alan E. Fineman, husband of Susan D. (Demeter) Fineman, Fleetwood. She is also survived by her grandchildren Rebecca, Christopher, Hannah, Leah, Benjamin and Daniel, her great-grandchildren, Colton, Ryder, Elliana and Reece, her brother, Joseph Maier, of Virginia and her Sister, Florence (Maier) Hartman, Levittown, PA.
In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by a Sister, Bertha (Maier) Smith and a brother, Stanley Maier.
In keeping with Leah's wishes, her body has been donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry, Philadelphia, to benefit all of us through the education of medical students. Memorial Services will be held for Leah at a later date.
