Lewis B. Woodland, 92, of Blandon, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Berks Heim, Bern Township.
Born August 8, 1923 in West Vincent Twp, PA, he was a son of the late Lewis B. Woodland Sr. and Luella (Mourar) Woodland. He and his wife of 70 years, Jane E. (Stevenson) Woodland were married on July 26, 1945.
Lewis was a machinist by trade and worked for 40 years for Continental Can Corporation. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Bethel, PA. Louis was a 1941 graduate of West Chester High School and also graduated from a trade school in Pottstown where he studied machinist work and drafting. He was an avid wood and metal worker, a member of the Mens Group at Keystone Villa of Fleetwood where he lived and loved flying model airplanes.
Lewis served his country honorable during World War II as a member of the US Army and took part in many operations in the European Theatre.
In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by his sons, Robert L. Woodland, husband of Diane M. (Duda) Woodland, Reading and Glenn F. Woodland, husband of Linda J. (Ewing) Woodland, Boyertown. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his daughter-in-law Rosemary Woodland, widow of his son Edward C. Woodland who preceded him in death.
Memorial services for Lewis will be private.
