Martha Ann (Taglieber) Freed, 78, of Kutztown, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.
Born February 22, 1944, in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Anna Catherine (Yarema) Taglieber.
Martha worked for several sewing factories and made children's dresses at Cinderella Flocks, Red Hill, PA. She worked at Pennsburg Pants, Sauder Sparks, Harleysville, and was a machine operator doing drug packaging. Martha also worked at several
t-shirt factories in Boyertown, for the Valley Forge Flag Company and for the Great American Knitting Mill, Bally.
Martha was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown and the Kutztown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She attended Upper Perkiomen High School and enjoyed quilting, especially making baby quilts and going to craft shows.
Martha is survived by her three daughters, Mary C. (Freed) Steltz, wife of Steven Steltz, Kutztown, Michelle T. (Freed) Badman, wife of Karl Badman, Pennsburg, and Constance J. (Freed) Ashenfelder, widow of Weston Ashenfelder, III, Kutztown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, April, Steven, Jr., Sarah, Phillip, Emily, Helena, Holly, Joseph Jr., and Danielle and by her 8 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise, her granddaughter, Nikki, and her brother, Leonard J. Taglieber.
Services for Martha will be private.
