Michael A. Rowland

Michael (Mike) A. Rowland, 60, passed away peacefully in his Pottstown home surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Mike was the son of the late William O. and Arlene J. Rowland.

Mike retired from The Hill School in 2006. Mike enjoyed helping his community, and was a member of several local volunteer fire companies in the area during his life, the most recent being the Pottstown Fire Department, where he served as a fire police officer. He also served as an EMT/Assistant Engineer with Gilbertsville Ambulance, and also was an EMT with Oley since 2012.

Mike became president of the Boyertown Area Safety and Security in 2018. One of his favorite times of the year, and something he avidly looked forward to, was Boyertown's Duryea Days, where he again volunteered his time to help with the event, with his best friend, Mark. Mike loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a love for woodworking.

Mike is survived by his wife, Dee, of over 15 years, daughter Amanda Miller, wife of Terry, grandchildren Britney Miller, Rebeka Prestridge, Wyatt Miller, Trinity Miller and Nolan Miller, of Myerstown, PA, son David Moyer, husband of Olivia, grandchildren Colby and Phoebe, of Pottstown, PA, son James Thees, husband of Kate Wilde, grandchildren Leighia Wilde, Kiaira Whiteneck, Ryleigh Whiteneck, Mckenzie Thees, Marissah Thees, Michael Thees, and Jayla Wilde-Thees, of Upper Pottsgrove. Mike is also survived by two brothers, Rick Rowland of Delaware, and Brian Rowland of East Greenville, PA, and two sisters, Judy Mock, wife of Jay Mock, of Audubon, PA, and Jennifer Shirey, wife of James Shirey, of Berks County. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved Chihuahua, Lucy.
