Michele E. Kunkel

Michele E. (Ruppert) Kunkel, 54, of Greenwich Twp, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born January 1, 1962 in Reading, she was the daughter of Carol (Greig) Becker, wife of Glenn Becker, Hamburg, and the late Michael Ruppert. She and her husband of 34 years, Daryl K. Kunkel, were married on September 19, 1981 in Shoemakersville.

Michele worked for many years as a service technician for Suburban Testing Labs, Bern Twp. In addition to her work with the lab, she worked alongside her husband Daryl running the family farm for 20 years.

Michele was a member of Grace Church, Kutztown and the Kempton Fire Company. She was a 1979 graduate of Hamburg High School. Michele enjoyed kayaking, biking and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Daryl and mom, Carol, Michele is survived by her three children, Jeremy S. Kunkel, husband of Kristen (Wright) Kunkel, Colorado Springs, CO, Amy S. (Kunkel) Miller, wife of Ross A. Miller, Palmyra, PA and Joshua M. Kunkel, Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Parker, Titus, Isaiah and Elizabeth and her brothers and sisters, Michael Ruppert, husband of Toni Ruppert, Leesport, David Ruppert, husband of Elaine Ruppert, Hamburg, Randy Ruppert, Muhlenberg Twp, Sue Balthaser, wife of Jeff Balthaser, Mooresville, NC, Maggie Ward, wife of Jeff Ward, Mooresville, NC, Tim Ruppert, husband of Beverly Ruppert, Shoemakersville, Chris Ruppert, husband of Sheila Ruppert, Hamburg, Joel Ruppert, husband of Amy Beth Ruppert, Wyomissing, Heather Biehl, wife of Brad Biehl, Blandon and Sara Ruppert, Hamburg.

She was preceded in death by her brother Dennis Ruppert.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Grace Church, 421 W. Main St., Kutztown, with Pastor Adam Roberts officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Albany Twp. A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, Michele asked that contributions be made to the Grace Church Food Bank, 421 W. Main St., Kutztown, PA 19530.
