Mrs. Jane L. (Troutman) Ruth

Mrs. Jane L. (Troutman) Ruth, 90, formerly of Bernville, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Phoebe Health Center, Wernersville.

Born September 21, 1933, in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Elvy M. (Klopp) Troutman. Her husband of 43 years, Richard I. Ruth, passed away on May 15, 1996.

Jane was a woman of great faith. She served at St. Thomas UCC Church, Bernville for many years through teaching Sunday School, Good News Club, and Vacation Bible School. She spent many summers at Mt Lou-San Bible Camp, Linglestown, serving as a camp counselor, and was a former member of Host Church, Bernville.

Jane worked for the Tulpehocken School District for almost 30 years as a cook at the Penn Bernville Elementary School retiring in 2001. She was a 1951 graduate of Penn Bernville High School.

In addition to spending time with her family, Jane enjoyed visiting church members who were unable to attend church services. She delivered the recorded weekly sermon and visited some of them every week. In her later years, while at Country Meadows and Phoebe Berks, she enjoyed playing bingo and helping others in any way that she was able.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Brenda J. (Ruth) Boyer, wife of Michael J. Boyer, Fleetwood, her grandchildren, Amber (Ruth) Gant, wife of Stacen Gant, Chantilly, VA, Kelli (Ruth) Ramirez, wife of Edgar Ramirez, San Tan Valley, AZ, Christopher Ruth, Florence, AZ, Jessica L. (Moyer) Skalamera, wife of Christopher T. Skalamera, Leesport, and Kristin M. (Moyer) Jenkins, wife of Tyler C. Jenkins, Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Keeli Gant, Maddox Gant, Eden Ramirez, Emelia Ramirez, Evie Ramirez, and Kayson Skalamera, her brother William Troutman, husband of Emily Troutman, Wyomissing, and her daughter-in-law, Salena.

Along with her parents, and her husband, Richard, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Francis A. Ruth, and her siblings, Agnes, Mae, Pearl, John, Paul, Anna, Elsie, Louis, Charles and Edwin.

Funeral Services for Jane will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 11:00 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville.

A Viewing will be held for Jane on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
