Mrs. Nancy M. (Mansur) Kovach

Nancy Mansur Kovach was sent off to be with her Lord and the love of her life, husband Bob Kovach, on Wednesday October 18, 2023, after an unsuccessful medical procedure. Nancy was a beloved and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born March 25, 1934 in Pottstown, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Ruth (Reinhart) Mansur. Nancy was a 1951 graduate of Phoenixville High School and went on to work as part of the office staff at Phoenixville Steel Mill. This is when she met Bob, her future husband during a steel mill bowling league. She remained at Phoenixville Steel until she married in 1954. She and Bob had to relocate to El Paso, TX so that he could serve in the Army; and typical Nancy, she dropped everything and accompanied him for this new adventure at the border town. They returned to Phoenixville in 1958 and started to raise a family and eventually built their home in Pottstown on Mervine Street in 1963.

Nancy's work experience included being Secretary to the Dean at the Hill School and administrative assistant jobs at AT&T, Stanley Flagg and the Lab at Pottstown Hospital. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's UCC in Pottstown and was currently a member of Trinity Church in Boyertown. Nancy was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 50+ years. She technically never retired as she remained an active branch manager for William Penn Fraternal Association, an annuity and insurance company from Pittsburgh, PA.

Nancy and Bob were married 58 years until Bob died in 2012. Nancy then moved to the Sanatoga Ridge Retirement Community iand thrived while meeting new friends that kept her competitive spirit alive with activities including many games of Dominos, Canasta, and Rummikube.

She was a devoted Christian, an avid reader and loved participating in bible study. She was currently reading the entire bible over a one-year period. If the Philadelphia Phillies were playing, you could find her knitting in front of her TV watching every pitch with her lucky Phillies shirt on with her Cole Hamels and Bryce Harper jerseys nearby. Their current playoff runs and many home runs had her very excited and she was hoping for a 2024 World Series win. Now, she will be rooting for them from Heaven.

Nancy was also an avid gardener who always had pansies and Hungarian hot peppers in her garden; growing peppers was a favorite hobby that she inherited from her husband Bob. She loved to cook her favorites: stuffed peppers, cherry soup, turkey sandwiches, garlic pretzels, and ham and strings beans. Her choice of dessert was salted caramel ice cream topped with peanut butter whiskey. She and Bob also loved to collect Majolica, a pottery native to the Phoenixville Area.

She was pre-deceased in 2012 by her husband and is survived by her children: Kathy Confer (Larry), Cynthia Liesau, Rob Kovach (Julie), and Betsy Griffith (David); grandchildren, Kristina Marable (Newstell), Larry Confer III (Tara), Ashley Ermold (Cory), Rachel Goldstein (Cole), Sarah Blackburn (Timothy) and Hannah Duclos (Amanda), and great-granddaughters, Kiera and Amelia. Along with her parents, she was also predeceased by her older brother, Warren Mansur. His wife Norma has remained a devoted friend to Nancy throughout her life.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Services that will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023. Viewing hours will be 10 - 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 11 AM and a luncheon thereafter at Trinity Church, 250 Swinehart Road, Boyertown, PA 19512 with Lead Pastor Les Cool officiating.
