Patrick J. Duddy, 74, of Kutztown, passed away on Wed, June 8, 2016 surrounded by family.
Born Jan. 29, 1942 in Reading, he was the son of the late Charles V. and Ozetta M. (Grab) Duddy. He and his wife, Cindy A. (Edwards) Duddy were married for 46 years.
Patrick first taught at Bethlehem Catholic and Ephrata High Schools and finished his career as a Professor of Biology at Kutztown University for 34 years.
Patrick was a 1959 graduate of St. Peter's Reading Catholic High. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Notre Dame and Master's Degrees from Villanova University, Lehigh University and Kutztown State College. He received many awards throughout his teaching career including being the first recipient of the Arthur and Isabel Wiesenberger Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching at Kutztown University. He considered this award the greatest honor of his teaching career because it was decided by the students.
Patrick enjoyed spending time with his family, especially camping and enjoying nature with his children and grandchildren.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Cindy, their children, Robert Duddy, husband of Leigh (Stork) Duddy, Lenhartsville and Maureen (Duddy) Henninger, wife of Kenny Henninger, Kutztown. He is also survived by his granddaughters Kenzie, Kayley and Chloe. Also, sisters Mary Theresa McNealis, Maureen C. Hamilton and Margaret Mary Glass and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his son, Patrick J. Duddy Jr. in 1986.

Services for Patrick will be private. Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, is honored to be entrusted with caring for Patrick and his family.
