Ray M. "Carl Stuart" Schacht

Ray M. "Carl Stuart" Schacht, 86 , of Bowers, died on Friday, Nov 27, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA.

He and his wife, Ellen J. (Salmon) Schacht celebrated their 44th anniversary on Oct 8, 2015. Born on Dec 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Rachel (McKeown) Schacht.

Carl was a Country Music Entertainer and Band Leader for many years. He played at the Grand Ole Opry with many stars including Jim Reeves. He was a broadcaster and owned WHOL Radio, Allentown. Carl also owned the Nite Life Restaurant / Bar, Macungie and was a musician and songwriter. He was an inductee of the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of Fame. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen, his daughter, Danielle L. (Boyer) Becker, wife of Roger Q. Becker, Bowers, grandchildren Raegen, Joshua, Dane, Mandy and Anthony and great-grandchildren, Logan, Haily, Ella, William and Mikhael.

A Memorial Service for Carl will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 357 W. Main St, Kutztown, with the Rev. Keith K. Rohrbach officiating. Burial will be in Bowers Union Cemetery, Bowers. A Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am Monday at the church.
