Roy H. Strunk, 72, of Richmond Township, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home.
Born August 22, 1949 in West Reading, he was the son of the late Henry O. and Cora L. (Dreibelbis) Strunk. His companion of 46 years, Diane Merkel, passed away in 2016.
Roy served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Roy worked for Crystal Brands and then later for Philip Van Heusen, where he worked in packing and shipping orders. He was a past member of the Pike Township Sportsman's Association and a 1967 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School.
Roy enjoyed soccer and had previously coached at the Eastern Lebanon School District. He also enjoyed fishing and NASCAR.
Roy is survived by his sister, Florence F. Strunk, Hamburg, his nieces, Shanen (Yob) Readinger, wife of Ronald Readinger, Oley, Sheila (Yob) Ruppert, wife of Christopher Ruppert, Hamburg, Karen (Yob) Knarr, wife of Robert Knarr, Wilmore, Nebraska, and Bonnie (Yob) Pool, fiancée of Randy Gillespie, Hamburg, his great-nieces and great-nephews, Adam Readinger, Natalie Clark, Bradley Clark, Rachel Readinger and Ben Knarr. He is also survived by his cousins, Sharon (Batholomew), Began, wife of Tim Began, Glen Mills, and Joanne S. (Dreibelbis) Dietrich, wife of Wilson Dietrich, and their son, Richard W. Dietrich, all of Kempton, and by several other cousins.
Services for Roy will be private.
