Tia A. Melcher

Tia A. Melcher, 12, of Topton, passed away Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

Born April 11, 2005 in West Reading, she was the daughter of Karen M. Beadencup and Ralph M. Melcher and the sister of Dejha N. Melcher.

Tia had attended Brandywine Heights Middle School prior to being home schooled. She loved going 4 wheeling and had an engineering mind. She loved to build things, and loved playing with Legos.

Tia was an amazing 12-year-old who managed to amaze people even up until the very end. Everyone who knew Tia knew how strong she was and how willing she was to fight. Her disease took a huge toll on Tia all of her life, but she never let it get in the way. She was in cheerleading and gymnastics most of her younger life and then switched to swim and Hip-Hop. If she wasn't dancing or swimming she was at home helping her Dad either take something apart or put it back together. Along with her audacity to fight, she was always full of spunk and sass. She would always give her doctors a piece of her mind, but a couple in particular, she did out of love. You could meet her once and instantly fall in love. She had a way of always making people smile and making people happy, even on her worst days. She was a family person who loved her Mom, her Dad and her Sister unconditionally.

In addition to her Mom and Dad, Karen and Ralph and her Sister, Dejha, Tia is survived by her maternal grandmother, Kim E. (Fetter) Beadencup, Oley, her maternal grandfather, Terry L. Beadencup, husband of Doreen Rimby, Blandon, her paternal grandmother, Billie G. (Melcher) Machain, wife of James Machain, Kutztown, her maternal great grandmothers, Shirley Beadencup, Blandon and Lois Fetter, Oley and by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tia was preceded in death by her maternal great grandfathers, Albert Beadencup, Sr. and Willard Fetter.

Funeral Services for Tia will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC, 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, with Rev. Gary J. Dierolf officiating. A viewing will be held for Tia on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Tia absolutely loved bright colors. Her family asks that everyone attending her services wear bright colors to honor her.
