Verna T. (Taylor) Whittenberg

Verna T. (Taylor) Whittenberg, 79, of Fleetwood, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, PA.

Born January 11, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anita E. (Perkins) and Warren F. Taylor Sr.

Verna worked for over 37 years as a Manager with the Department of Service Observing, first with Bell Telephone and then with AT&T. She had also worked for 17 years for West Jersey Cardiology, Vorhees, NJ as a receptionist.

Verna was a Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic Church, last serving in Sicklerville, NJ and a member of the NAACP and the Urban League of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of West Catholic for Girls High School, Philadelphia and received her Associates Degree in Business from Pierce Junior College.

Verna is survived by her son, Carl D. Whittenberg, Fleetwood and her sisters, Illena and Suvea. She was preceded in death by her brother, Warren F. Taylor Jr.

Memorial Services for Verna will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 10:00 am, at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood, PA.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home.
