Vunnie V.L. "Tony" Rhoads

Vunnie V.L. "Tony" (McAbee) Rhoads, 82, of Pricetown, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born Nov. 16, 1933 in Juliette, GA, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Lillian (Puckett) McAbee. She and her husband, Ray L. Rhoads, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on Nov. 12, 2015.

Tony was a long time member of the Ruscombmanor Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was also active in the Pricetown Senior Citizens. She enjoyed her magnolia tree, flowers and doing arts and crafts.

Tony is survived by her husband, Ray, her children, William K. Rhoads, husband of Denise Rhoads, Ephrata, Robert D. Rhoads, West Reading, Ray L. Rhoads, husband of Ellen Rhoads, Palmerton, Davilyn M. Wentzel, Whitehall, Marvis A. Rhoads, Pricetown, Thomas J. Rhoads, husband of Sharliene Bowers, Ruscombmanor Twp, and Vanessa M. Stoudt, Exeter. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Tony was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Graham and Reta Page and by her great-grandson Everett Wentzel.

Funeral Services for Tony will be held at 11 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Walbert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, PC 14390 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, with the Rev. Bruce W. Potteiger officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Rockland Twp.
